Abstract

The purpose of this research is to research the behavior and experience when playing a board game that shown by people or groups and analyzes whether it's possible to bring the fun experience when playing non-educative board game into the educative board game, so the learning experience can give an unforgettable experience and lessons to be taught through the board game itself. The research method that I used is interview method, observation method, and comparative study method. There is some quality from non-educative board games that can be adapted for the educative board games. From the way they are played, game duration, game transition, victory condition in game, and how the player interacts with each other. Besides giving education value as the main purpose of an educative board game, the way it played actually can adapted also from the non-educative board games, from the fun in playing and the impact of it to whomever that plays it.

Abstract

Based on the survey, there are already many fashions that use corn husk waste processing materials. Therefore, this research focuses on the waste processing techniques of corn husk for fashion. This study used an explanative qualitative method to analyze the processing of corn husk waste for fashion products. The processing of corn husk waste is done through the raft engineering technique by going through several stages, namely using the initial exploration-making stage which is used by applying the twisted, twisted, twisted twine, twisting, dense twisting, and crochet crafting technique. This weaving weave is composed by applying it using the raft technique of yarn, twisting, twisting twice, loosely twisting, dense twisting, and crochet, because to produce an attractive texture and get different results from the others, the last exploration stage is the technique. assemble thread rafts by applying using the twisted, twisted, twisted, loose twisted, dense twisting and crochet crafting technique. Meanwhile, in the process of coloring the results of the raft technique with the experimental method through a process of several stages in the form of a pickling process with bleaching and scouring techniques, the coloring process with natural colors that come from nature, the cutting process, and the forming process with the weaving technique using yarn in the union.

Abstract

The traditional Sunda Kasepuhan Ciptagelar community is considered to have achieved food independence because each citizen has sufficient food supplies for the next few years. This community has rules related to food processing, such as storing rice in leuit (barn), pounding rice in saung lisung, and cooking rice in goah (cooking area) according to the teachings of their ancestors (tatali paranti karuhun) and the rules that bind them (tilu sapamilu). The purpose of this study was to see the relationship between the use of leuit, saung lisung, and goah by the community with their success in managing food. So this study is an ethnographic study using qualitative methods with data obtained from field observations, interviews with indigenous experts and local residents, and literature data. The data were analyzed using the theory of the meaning of the environment and architecture of Amos Rapoport, where understanding the meaning of the environment is important so that the physical environment such as buildings can be identified functionally, the value and meaning of their existence. This theory is supported by Edward Relph's theory of space and distance, which states that space has a unique quality where space is able to "command", focus human intentions, experiences, and actions spatially. This study also uses the elements of tatali paranti karuhun and tilu sapamilu to understand the meaning of existence from the perspective of the Sundanese Kasepuhan Ciptagelar community. The results of the study found that each process of rice processing in leuit, saung lisung, and goah became a complete unit and had to be carried out according to ancestral teachings which could not be replaced by modern technology. So that the three buildings are integrated, where the rules for storing rice, calculating when and how much rice is pounded, and the amount of cooking rice are fixed rules. The existence of permanent regulations on paranti karuhun and tilu sapamilu makes leuit, saung lisung, and goah a social institution for the people of Kasepuhan Ciptagelar in terms of food. This makes this community very careful in calculating daily food needs so that it is not excess or lacking and with it this community is able to manage food properly to achieve food sovereignty.

Abstract

A lot of contemporary analysis on Aleksandr Rodchenko’s design works is done through the critical lens of avant-garde and humanities. With the rise of effort to bring back relevance of traditional aesthetics as the point of view to look at art and design, there is a space to reread Rodchenko’s work. This paper will analyze the aesthetic of Rodchenko’s poster design titled “Books: The Advertisement Poster for the Lengiz Publishing House”. The analysis will be conducted through two different perspective: through the lens of Croce and Collingwood’s Expression Theory (or CC Theory), and the lens of Bell & Fry’s Formalism. The aim of this study is to determine whether aesthetical judgement could be given on constructivism poster design through both lens. The method of analysis is using qualitative research method based on literature study. The poster then will be investigated through each criteria of essence of art from each point of view. In the end, it could be concluded that the poster has significant aesthetic value from each point of view.

Abstract

This research contains the “overview of polyester on bicycle jersey”. Polyester fabric is a fabric that is often used for bicycle jerseys because it has a high coefficient of elasticity and sweat absorption which is directly channeled to the outer layer of the jersey, thus keeping the body dry and comfortable during cycling. Bike jersey is designed in such a way as to support cyclists or racers in carrying out their activities. The choice of polyester type and the difference between the Mountbike jersey and the Roadbike jersey have a role to affect the comfort while cycling because cycling with the right clothes will further increase the benefits of cycling. To study the polyester review on the bicycle jersey, the author uses qualitative methods and analysis techniques using ergonomic theory. From the results of the discussion, it can be concluded that almost all types of polyester meet the material comfort standards, but there are differences in treatment in fulfilling safety aspects.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic which occurred during early 2020 has spawned a new habit for society, called the New Normal. One of these new habits is the use of masks when we are going outside. This new habits cause emergence new variant of mask which inspired by the non-medical use mask, one of which is valve masks. Valve masks are becoming more and more prevalent as this new habits develops. This inspired the author to conduct a review of the valve mask design, the work system of this product, as well as its weaknesses and advantages. Due to this reasons, the author uses a descriptive method in conducting a review of this product. The author selects several samples that represent each type of valve mask. The results of this study indicate that in general, there are three types of valve mask variants, which are one valve mask, two valve mask, and three valve mask. In principle, the valve working system flows the air unidirectional, thus allowing the regulation of circulating air circulate according to the valve position on the mask. Valve masks are relied on in reducing the incidence of tightness compare to the use of usual mask (masks without valves), but on the other hand, the valve have potential to be an entry and exit door for the Covid-19 virus droplets.

Abstract

The floor brush is one of the hygiene products that are still a mainstay for cleaning floors, bathroom walls and other hard surfaces. Floor brushes in its use still not fully pay attention to aspects of user needs, such as user convenience and functionality. The use of floor brushes is mostly done in an abnormal work position, such as brushing the floor with a squatting position or with a bent position. With method starting from the stage of extracting ideas, the analysis continues with the development stage, design concepts, systems and details, prototyping, production processes, product evaluation or testing, ending with the distribution stage. Evaluation also needs to use certain benchmarks, to find out how far a design has met the technical, functional, aesthetic and economic quality. Cleaning activities are needed for a certain period to maintain the area where the activity becomes more comfortable. Bathroom or toilet is the most crucial room for a dwelling. Required hygiene tool that has more functionality than just brush the floor (multifunction), and also compact, so it can do efficient use of equipment cleanliness and ease in use.

Abstract

Artificial fishing lures are of various shapes made to mimic animals that have become the natural diet of fish, one example is the frog-shaped which is generally used to lure predatory fish in freshwater waters. Over time, the various forms of frog bait are now increasingly diverse, so it is necessary to make an observation regarding each of its advantages and disadvantages by taking several representative product samples to be discussed in depth, provided that the criteria that the selected artificial bait product must still display characteristics the shape of a frog, so it's not just the name on the product packaging. The findings state that there are 7 types of frog-shaped bait, each of which is categorized according to its characteristic shape and movement which has advantages and disadvantages.

Abstract

Everyone's need for household furniture and limited space are problems that often occur in the middle to lower economic class. This is a concern for designers to create a solution in making practical household furniture, one of which is folding tables and chairs that save space and can be carried everywhere. Folding tables and chairs for outdoor is a table and chairs that can be placed for the outdoors and can be folded and can be carried anywhere. In this case, the author describes the work system and the benefits of folding tables and chairs. The analysis result, that explain things that must be considered in making folding tables and chairs include material, ergonomics, shape, work environment, and people. Then the research was carried out on one of the folding table and chair products called the Hobbit. The author examines the work system of the folding tables and chairs, starting from the materials or materials used, the size, how to use them, namely opening and closing the folds, as well as testimonials from correspondents who have tried using the product. Overall, the function of folding tables and chairs for outdoor can be more practical, because if they are not used, folding tables and chairs can be stored so that they save storage space and can be placed as you wish.

Abstract

The background of designing this product is to create innovation in visual textile design, especially for surface design with traditional Solo traditional food visuals (Jajan pasar) which is contained in the atmosphere where the food is located with the intention of conveying a message so that the millennial generation knows more and wants to preserve something traditional. , and it can be started from the most common thing, namely getting to know traditional food from Solo. This work will later explore the form of traditional food, especially Solo traditional snacks and the atmosphere where the food is located which will be visualized into designs on the textile surface. This work comes because of the problem of traditional food which is now being displaced by external foods such as junk food, fast food, and western food. Apart from that, the modernization style of the teenagers is arguably westernized which also affects their diet in their daily interactions. In order to support their existence and match the lifestyle of other friends. The results of this design can be concluded into a number of things: (1) exploring the visual form of digital design with the source of the idea of "Typical Solo Market Jajanan Pasar" with illustrative styling with food visuals that resemble its original form in which a selling and buying story is written, as well as placing objects food itself into people's daily lives. (2) The design is intended for media promotion of typical Solo food to adolescents. (3) The design is realized with digital printing techniques which will later be transformed into unisex clothing for ages 17-25 years (late teens). In addition, this product is expected to convey a message and can be a special attraction for millennial generation children to preserve and love something traditional, as well as a new style campaign in maintaining the existence of something that is traditional and is one of the cultures, namely by making this product. as a souvenir which will later be processed into clothing products favored by millennial children.
